Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken misses NFL coaches group photo due to haircut

Todd Monken, recently introduced as head coach of the NFL's Cleveland Browns, missed the traditional group photo of all 32 head coaches at the league's annual meeting in Phoenix.

According to Cleveland.com reporter Mary Kay Cabot, Monken was getting a haircut at the time, having scheduled it ahead of what he believed was a noon Pacific time photo slot on Monday.

Monken learned from Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen that the photo had already been taken early, after a coaches meeting concluded ahead of schedule.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay was also absent from the photo.

Monken, formerly the Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator,[1] addressed his quarterback situation ahead of his first season with the Browns. Potential starters include veteran Deshaun Watson,[2] Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel.[3]

With the Browns' offseason program approaching, Monken said quarterback reps would not be evenly split. "I don’t expect the reps to be divided equally," he said Tuesday, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. He added the staff would base the order on past performances.

Monken previously served as offensive coordinator for the Ravens from 2023, helping lead the team to the AFC North title in 2023 and an AFC championship game appearance in 2024.[1][4]
